2015 Grammy Nominees: Beyonce, Sam Smith And Pharell Leads With Six Nominations Each


The 57th Grammy awards will take place on Sunday February 8th 2015 and the first batch of nominees have been announced. R&B star Beyonce, British soul-pop artist Sam Smith and singer-producer Pharell Williams are all set to battle it out at the coming Grammys as each of them have been nominated for six awards.

The announcement was made by the recording academy on Friday at the star-studded A very Grammy Christmas in Los Angeles. The three stars stand a chance to get the top prize of Album of the year. Sam Smith’s ‘In the lonely hour’, Beyonce’s self titled album and Pharell’s ‘Girl’ joined rocker Beck’s ‘Morning phrase’ and Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ in the album of the year category.

22 year old Smith is also a contender for the coveted ‘Best New Artist’ alongside Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, British pop-rokers Bastille, Country singer Brandy Clark and California sister trio Hiam.
